Recalling Music: Gwerz - "Gwerz" (1985)

HERE Award-winning first album Gwerz Breton group, originally called "Traditionnelle Musique de Bretagne" published in 1985. Gwerz
born in the early eighties. The group's name refers to the characteristic song of Britain. This song can tell epic events, historical or mythological. This practice, now forgotten, was updated by the Breton band which induces a resounding success in the Celtic music festivals throughout Europe. His music is based on traditional melodies in which the musicians improvise and show off their virtuosity. There is then an amalgam of traditional songs and the perfect execution instrumental guitar, violin and wind instruments.

Recalling Music: Micho Russell - Ireland's Whistling Ambassador (1995)
Micho Russell (1915-1994) was considered as the national treasure of Ireland.
A farmer who became an instrument for the revival of Irish folk music, back in the 60's. His vast repertoire of beautiful melodies, warmth and a totally unique approach when it comes to playing the tin whistle was won led to a loyal and enthusiastic. These recordings fail to capture the magic of the music of Micho and give the listener a journey to the roots la música irlandesa.

Patrick Street es un supergrupo Ireland is renowned musicians in the Irish folk scene.
The band formed in 1986 consisted of: Kevin Burke (Bothy Band) to fiddle, Jackie Daly (De Dannan) on accordion, Arty McGlynn (Van Morrison, Planxty) on guitar and Andy Irvine (Sweeney's Men, Planxty ) to bouzoouki, vocals, mandolin, hurdy-gurdy and harmonica. In later stages would incorporate musicians and Ged Foley (The House Band, The Bettlefield Band) on guitar and fiddle in place of Arty McGlynn. Also form part of the band Declan Masterson on uilleann pipe and the keyboards. Also enjoyed repeatedly collaboration of musicians such as Donal Lunny, Bill Whelan and Enda Walsh.
Jackie Daly left the band for a short trip during which the group joined the multi-instrumentalist John Carty.
The third album "Irish Times" (1990) they recorded the famous version of "Music for a found of the harmonium" by Simon Jeffes and the Penguin Orchestra. Work that would be recorded later by the Galician group Matto Conger (1993)
